5 days of trimming yews in THE most spectacular setting imaginable. One of three venues we are charged with caring for, where the privilege is entirely ours.

Happy to suspend brushcutting operations today when I spotted this little fella in front of me. Stillness being their best natural defence as they don't have any scent as youngsters.

Looking back on last year's works. Will be attaching these photographs to new quotations from now on. Aiming to impress.

Email to all clients sent out this morning. Stay safe folks. Due to the messages being very mixed over who can work and who cannot at this time, what's essential and what isn't, I have taken it upon myself to suspend our services for the time being. I have not taken the decision lightly, it's just that when I weigh everything up, and the potential consequences, I cannot, in my heart, justify the risks. Not just in terms of the risk of us contracting and passing on the virus, but if one of us were to have a mishap that requires medical attention, it becomes very serious indeed. I do not think that we would be thanked by an over-stressed NHS for performing a task which cannot really be deemed as essential either. On a more positive note, we have the equipment to bring the grass down and back under control regardless of how much it's grown, once this period is over. Please get in touch with me if you need to - I can guarantee that I will have time to answer your call! I wish you all good health and thank you for your business, your understanding and your patience. Kind regards, Andrew Felton.

This job has been in the pipeline for almost two years now. I think it took our client a while to build up the confidence to finally take the plunge and put these beautiful Holme Oaks under the knife and have them standardised. It took three days working in rain, snow and the most tremendously strong winds to complete. Feeling very pleased with the outcome.

More clearance saw work today, getting a tremendous amount cut down. Picking up and dumping in piles is proving more time consuming and difficult than expected, especially when the freezing rain is blowing horizontally across the moors and into our faces. Reinforcements turning up tomorrow bringing us up to a six man team.

Scrub clearance contract started for Staffs Wildlife Trust on Gun moor today. Enjoying the views and enjoying running STIHL's clearing saws, we cannot fault these machines.
